Australia and Global Trade

Description

Professionals in International Trade and the Australian Institute of International Affairs, supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) and Austrade, have the great pleasure to invite you to our next event at the Sydney Startup Hub.

Where: Sydney Startup Hub, Level 1, 11 York Street, Sydney

When: Monday, June 3, 6.00 – 8.00 pm

Over the last year, the global trade environment has become increasingly contested with growing trade tensions, rising protectionist sentiment, and roadblocks within the World Trade Organisation. Yet Australia, with its relatively open economy, small population, and high demand for capital, will continue to rely on trade and investment for our prosperity. How will Australia navigate the global trade headwinds in the years ahead? How can Australian businesses take advantage of international opportunities in this context? What tools can help Australian businesses when they seek to “go global”?

Hear from our distinguished panel of experts:

Tim Beresford, Deputy CEO, Global Markets and Sector Engagement, Austrade

As Deputy CEO of Austrade, Tim Beresford has strategic leadership for the promotion of trade and investment opportunities for Australia and operational responsibility for Austrade’s onshore trade and investment teams and offshore network.
